The Italy of Goffredo Parise in the "Syllabari"

Abstract

Goffredo Parise made nomadism an art: born in Vicenza in 1929, he soon moved to Venice, then Milan, Rome, and then returned to Veneto in the last years of his life. In addition, among his travels, there are also numerous trips abroad, some of which are told in beautiful pages of reports. Focusing on the Italian landscape, we can find many texts that Parise sets in Italy and in which he addresses the issue of his personal places and in particular the Veneto, which is the benchmark and for which he feels a visceral attachment, but also Rome, Capri, Venice, Vicenza, Milan, etc. .... But it is in the  Sillabari  that Parise condenses the places of his life, making it a text that allows you to travel his Italian journey and that reverberates in the environments a further meaning that makes it possible to a more organic reading.
