Abstract

Angiography is a way of producing x-ray Pictures of the insides of blood vessels. When blood vessels are blocked, narrowed, damaged or abnormal in any way, problems, including stroke, may occur. Angiography helps to determine the source of the problem and the extent of damage of the blood vessel segments that are being examined. Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) is a new computer assisted-process which enables visualization of cerebral and coronary arterial structures after intravenous injection of contrast material. Cerebral and arterial mask images and phase images are generated to carry out the DSA process thereby to have an optimal angiography images. Thus, the exact image cannot be obtained using only the phase images and hence the comparison of mask image with the phase image produces the Digitized and subtracted angiographic image (DSA) which helps to visualize the blood vessels clearly and to determine the abnormalities in the brain and the coronary arteries. Our method uses Lab VIEW software to perform the DSA image. From the DSA image of the brain and the Coronary arteries, the presence of tumor and the blocks in the blood vessels are identified.
