Abstract

In this paper a special electric transformer which allows achieving multiple polyphase systems (two-phase, five-phase and six-phase) from the three-phase power grid, using different connection schemes, is presented. The purpose of such an electric transformer is to offer the possibility of easily obtain different multiphase electric systems from the available three-phase power system, in electric machines laboratory for supplying polyphase motor drives, lately used on a large scale and variety. Connection schemes, phasor diagrams and turn ratios along with experimental data acquisitions are illustrated.
