The as prepared LDH photo catalyst was characterized to reveal the structure and texture. The photo catalysis activity of the 2D materials was studied by degradation of an anionic dye methyl orange and a cationic dye methylene blue. It is found that Zn/Al-CO3 LDH has magnificent performance for the degradation of anionic dye and the efficiency is superior to the performance on cationic dye. The kinetics and mechanism of photo catalytic dye degradation of Zn/Al-CO3 LDH were also discussed.
