Abstract

One of the main reasons HEVC coding is so much better than previous video coding standards is the variable TU size. HEVC uses the remaining quad tree to limit the above bits and allow flexibility in TU partitioning. Moreover, the adaptability of TU size greatly increases the complexity of the coder.
