Abstract

Compensating for nonlinear distortions is of interest in low- and high-power satellite communications, magnetic recording, and multicarrier systems such as OFDM and discrete multi-tone (DMT) where non-constant modulus transmissions increase the peak-to-average power ratio. A digital zero-forcing (ZF) predistorter, based on module arithmetic, is developed to equalize nonlinear Volterra channels whose estimates are available at the transmitter.
