Abstract

Experimentation in the modern age, and electronic engineering teaching and learning should be efficient and effective. The first course on analog electronics appears in engineering curricula in the third semester or earlier, and laboratory experiments often suffer from student’s lack of breadboard circuit manipulation and data acquisition skills, which frequently leads to erroneous results and loss of time. The pocket sized EZ-TBOARD and its associated didactic resources is an experimentation system project that speeds up learning related to basic operation and application of semiconductor transistors. By means of a reconfigurable compact design, the training board helps students to setup the major different biasing, amplification and switching schemes suggested for all kind of three terminal transistors, in order to focus the experimenter’s attention on the key aspects of device and application circuit theory, enhancing the student’s capacity to analyze, design and reconfigure a circuit for a required behavior. The provided educational materials cover typical analysis and design methods to observe system outputs dependency on value of circuit element parameters, instead of common circuit assembly mistakes. It is expected for the training system to become an important reference for open educational resources in analog electronics engineering.
