Abstract

Replacing standard glazing, wall and roof facing materials with building integrated photovoltaics offers both, electric energy production and art expression of building envelope - roofs, skylights and facades. Daylight coming from skylights and large-scaled glazed roofs allows better perception of architectural elements and details of modern shopping mall. Electric energy production is important extra profit of such solution. In this paper we discuss specific technical, architectural and electric energy aspects of buildings - shopping malls with building integrated photovoltaics in Central Europe conditions.
