Wi-Fi shaped antenna with enhanced performance using metamaterial

Abstract

In this paper, a Wi-Fi logo shaped microstrip antenna is designed. The main focus in this paper is to explore the properties of metamaterial to improve the performance of the antenna. The SRR based metamaterial is incorporated in design. The combined structure of the proposed antenna with metamaterial superstrate layer gives the return loss of -28dB at 35GHz & -15dB at 45GHz and the overall gain of 15dB for the range.
