Abstract

Reliability of electric power supply to consumers depends on reliability of distribution grids. Phase-to-phase faults (PPF) and line-to-ground faults (LGF), which occur at elements of the 6–20 kV distribution grid, may lead to a temporary loss of loads. Complete restoration of power supply is possible only after the response actions by the field service team (FST). Team personnel need a considerable amount of time (30–80 min) to isolate the fault by performing local sequential switchovers at several substations.
