Abstract

Photonic Crystal hexagonal microring-resonator based biosensor has used the detection of glucose concentration in urine and blood. Photonic Crystal hexagonal microring-resonator is used as a biosensing element. This integrated optical hexagonal ring resonator is integrated in between the two straight waveguides. This biosensor detects the glucose-concentration in urine and blood. This biosensor provides a high Q-factor of 26180 sensitivity of 117 nm/RIU and a detection limit of 5.1282 × RIU. This SOI-based biosensor sensor is analyzed and modeled by using the FDTD method.
