The power system needs to build flexible resources to ensure the adequacy of regulation capacity. This paper sorts out the definition of flexibility of power system and the main flexibility requirements that power system faces at present. Based on the analysis of system flexibility requirements, the technical characteristics of flexibility resources in the system are investigated and compared, and the technical suitability of flexibility resources for different flexibility requirements is analyzed. On this basis, this paper proposes two economic calculation models to rank flexibility resources economically.
