The Management Potential Development Model for Artificial Intelligence Technologists in the Public Sector

Abstract

This research aims to study elements of the management potential development model for artificial intelligence technologists in the public sector, develop the management potential model, and provide a guideline for the management potential development model for artificial intelligence technologists in the public sector. The research applied a mixed method of qualitative and quantitative approaches. Qualitative research tools include in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and content analysis. The population in this research includes experts with artificial intelligence technology practices including 1) an in-depth interview of 7 people, 2) a focus group meeting of 13 people, and 3) a sample of 416 respondents. The results showed elements of the management potential model of artificial intelligence technologists in the public sector. 1) Attitudes and motivations 2) Digital ecosystem 3) Leadership and competency required 4) Values and Growth mindset. And the expert group approved that a guideline for developing the management potential of artificial intelligence technologists in the public sector has been appropriate and consistent with the content and is practical for further use and development.
