Abstract
Aim to study the linear dimensions of the right and left kidneys in patients with urolithiasis and in individuals without kidney disease.
Material and methods. We assessed the average values of length, thickness and width at the level of the poles and hilum of the kidney in urolithiasis (main group 65 patients) and in the control group (87 healthy people) using the method of 3D reconstruction of the computed tomography data and the method of variational-statistical analysis.
Results. The linear dimensions of the kidneys: length, thickness, width at all levels were larger in the main group than in the control group, due to the expansion of the pyelocaliceal system, as well as edema and, as a result, an increase in the size of the parenchyma in patients with urolithiasis.
