Abstract

With the evolution towards 5G networks, the current system architectures gain more interoperability that allow services to perform at increased efficiency. In the case of telco networks, by integrating a satellite backhaul, a wider range of services can be obtained for the end devices, while at the same time optimizing the backhaul usage. In this paper we present a set of evaluations performed on virtual evolved packet core network with GEO satellite network is used as backhaul.
