Abstract
Beam tilting and adaptive array are known as antenna techniques to increase frequency utilization efficiency in cellular systems. In this paper, we evaluate performance of some dynamic channel assignment methods in cellular systems using beam tilting and an adaptive array at base stations. The evaluated dynamic channel assignment methods are channel segregation, ARP (autonomous reuse partitioning), SORP (self-organized reuse partitioning) and a current method in PHS (CMP). We evaluate the performance according to the number of wireline circuits at a base station. Computer simulation results show that beam tilting and adaptive array improve interference rate performance regardless of the number of wireline circuits at a base station, and improve blocking rate performance in the case where a base station has many wireline circuits.
