Abstract
The performance of a soft handover framework applied to a line of sight visible light communication system is evaluated in this paper. Based on a frequency division multiplexing technique, the evaluated scheme ensures that users do not lose their connection while they are moving in indoor environments. Each access point (AP) uses a particular channel band to transmit orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signals to a user. The simulation results, obtained in a scenario with two APs and one user, confirmed the connection maintenance in all tested links.
