Managing St John's - working for the greater good.

Abstract

Abstract This chapter relates the success story of St John's Co-Cathedral in Valetta, Malta which went from a dilapidated state to a level of development deserving its historic status. It is indicated that having a vision was the crucial aspect to St John's success, besides the issue of a holistic approach, in which capital works and daily management must be in sync. St John's introduced the 'pay or pray' system, with the money from entry fees contributing to the restoration of the church-museum.
