Abstract
The paper deals with stabilization of voltage level in low-voltage (LV) grids penetrated by dynamic loads and distributed generation units employing OLTC transformers with supporting distributed voltage measurement system along grid. For correct and effective regulation/control of the LV transformers, it is important to respect real voltage magnitude profile along the grid, to set appropriate tap. Deployment of Smart Metering offers an opportunity to obtain required voltage data in all points of connection. In terms of communication, power line communication is typically employed, nevertheless some limitations in data availability (due to communication delay or even temporary loss) for the transformers real tine autonomous control are expected. Various scenarios tested by means of simulations are proposed and performance of voltage stabilization systems of progressive technology level are compared and discussed in terms of their effectiveness and accuracy.
