Abstract

A comparative analysis of the electromechanical characteristics of induction traction motors with different cooling systems and different rotor cage materials has been performed. For ease of comparison, all alternatives are designed in such a way that the temperature rise of the stator winding is approximately the same. Particular criteria are proposed, including economic indicators that form the functional for finding the most effective solution. According to the best design variant of the motor, a pilot industrial model of the motor for a light rail vehicle was manufactured.
