This paper introduces multicast technology firstly. Secondly, it puts forward the multicast idea of campus network multimedia system: deploy IGMP snooping protocol in switching Ethernet, and combine VLAN technology. Thirdly, it provides a framework of multimedia multicast system on the campus based on MVC pattern. Then it describes the designing solution particularly and development method of the difficulty. By experiment, this system has good maintainability and expandability. In the multicast communication mode, the network traffic does not increase with the increase of the traffic, and obtains a good subjective quality evaluation.
