MMIC Prospects in Microwave Communications

Abstract

Potential applications of monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMIC) in microwave communications received comparatively little attention in articles, conference papers, etc., so far. A notable exception was the Workshop on MMICs held last year at this Conference. It included a session entitled "Impact of MMICS on Communications and Broadcasting Systems " . The presentations and discussion clearly demonstrated the widespread interest among equipment designers to use MMICs as soon as these can satisfy the performance requirements at justifiable cost.
