Abstract
The need for a quality educational service is a concern for universities, so there are certification standards and accreditation models that focus on the needs of stakeholders. In terms of certifications, universities have been working with the ISO-9001 standard, but this was not designed for the education sector, which makes it difficult to interpret its requirements. In May 2018, the ISO-21001 standard designed for the education sector was approved, but it is necessary to analyze and evaluate this new standard to identify the advantages and difficulties of its implementation. The ISO-21001 has several requirements. In this research the requirement “Provision of Educational Products and Services” is evaluated as being key in the teaching process. Finally, an evaluation methodology is proposed which is applied in the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Sciences and Humanities, resulting in the determination of concrete actions to bridge the identified gap.
