Abstract

For more than 20 years modern developments of auxiliary power converters (APC) for railway applications have focused on demands for low dimensions and mass, higher efficiency and simplified maintenance. Currently under an increasing number of electronic loads, requiring high-quality electric energy and under the ever increasing running distances of locomotives a requirement of high reliability becomes priority.
