The implementation of the unity displacement factor frequency converter: Tackling short circuit and overvoltage problems

Abstract

The fundamental problems that have been encountered since the inception of matrix converters is that of short circuits and over voltages. This is due to the fact that the commutation problem has not been addressed successfully in these type of systems. In this paper, a possible solution is presented.
