Abstract

In this paper, one composite printed antenna is reported which consists of a U-shaped patch end terminated by rectangular patch and excited by CPW feed. The antenna operates over the frequency range of 2.8-6.1GHz (in S and C-bands).By implementing switching circuitry in these structure, frequency hopping is achieved over the operating band. The proposed antenna also offers omnidirectional radiation pattern with suitable gain which makes the structure suitable for cognitive radio application in interweave paradigm.
