Contribution of remote sensing to the definition of an indicator for the analysis of periurban dynamics

Abstract

The periurbanisation is a major urban fact in Europe. However the definition of periurban dynamics is difficulty due to its fuzzy aspect. We tried to highlight the periurban territory with the contribution of remote sensing. Besides, mathematical morphology was our major tool of image processing. This paper describes the two methodologies applied and their results.
