Abstract

The article discusses the position of geography in the school from the point of view of modern requirements for improving the quality of teaching the subject “Geography” in general education organizations. It is shown that the solution of this issue is largely determined by the priorities and tasks of the scientifc, technological and spatial development of the Russian Federation. The possible ways of solving these problems in teaching an academic subject in several directions are revealed.
