The results of this study indicate that the implementation of AfL in writing skill learning in elementary was completed by the teacher to control completely of students' writing development. Students were assisted to write together until they finished. The results of some of the students' writings were written in a portfolio and at the end of the portfolio programs were exhibited and assessed. Abstract

The objective of the study is to describe the implementation of assessment for learning (AfL) in Indonesian learning in elementary school, particularly in writing skills. The study is a case study with research subjects consisting of a teacher and 28 fourth grade elementary school students in Laweyan, Surakarta.
