Abstract

Smart cities require intelligent transportation systems where the communication is based on edge/fog/cloud computing. The deployment of 5G is expected to play a crucial role in the new infrastructure and services. This paper presents a use case to illustrate the concept of network function virtualization, as a new paradigm in designing the telecommunications networks.
