A Note on Brief Intimate Encounters

Abstract

Social work, as a profession, survives by reflecting community values. Because community values seldom recognize the basic needs reflected in short-term relationships, social workers may desire to correct this value imbalance. A defense of the short-term relationship is presented, as well as a comment on its human potential in certain situations.
