Abstract

In this paper, a decentralized model predictive controller (MPC) is designed for three machine infinite bus system. The objective of the MPC controller is to mitigate low frequency oscillation of power system. To validate the effectiveness of the controller a three machine power system is considered here. The MPC controller is placed as a decentralized controller. The behaviour of the MPC is observed with multi machine environment using both DC and AC excitation system. The behaviour of the MPC is also compared with centralized and decentralized control technique.
