Abstract
coverage and communication of EU cohesion policy for the last completed programming period. English-language publications, as well as publications in Bulgarian, from scientific journals or as part of research projects concerning the period 2014-2020, were examined. The aim is to highlight the main approaches, topics and the insufficiency of scientific knowledge on the subject to date. Desk research, analysis and synthesis were used. The main hypothesis is that the amount of theoretical knowledge about the means of communication of the cohesion policy is disproportionate to its importance for the countries of the European Union and especially for some of its economies. It is assumed that a more comprehensive and detailed analysis of the processes and methods of communication of this policy can improve their effectiveness and help the European institutions and national structures to articulate this essential tool for European integration more comprehensibly and potentially - to increase the sensitivity of citizens for her. Keywords: cohesion policy, communication strategies, communication policies, media coverage, European Union.
