Abstract
A short course “Yokohama Power Electronics College (YPEC)” utilizing experiments and e-learning is organized by Specified Nonprofit Corporation, Yokohama Universities Venture Club (YUVEC) and Yokohama National University, Japan. This education seminar aims to continuously produce human resources who will lead future technological development based on new ideas from an overview of the power electronics field. The target of the seminar is mainly engineers in industries, however, it includes managers and business people. Because we believe that basic principles and attitudes are also helpful to create new products and businesses in the field of the power electronics. The predecessor of the YPEC was a complimentary seminar organized by Yokohama National University as a project commissioned by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) from 2016 to 2019. It is currently steered by YUVEC with support from Yokohama National University. In this paper, the outline of the YPEC, the ideas to enhance the educational effect, and the results are presented and discussed.
