Abstract
A significant part of the produced gas is transported by trunk pipeline transport. The issue of reducing hydraulic losses during gas transportation is an urgent task for reducing gas transportation enterprise's expenses for their own technological needs. In this paper, we consider the possibility of increasing the energy efficiency of gas transport through the use of an antifriction smooth surface coating of the inner surface of linear sections. Currently, such coatings are used quite rarely due to a significant increase in capital costs for the construction of main gas pipelines. In the course of the study it was shown that the use of these materials can be economically feasible when used not along the entire length of the pipeline, but only in its last sections. This is due to the fact that during the transportation of gas there is a change in the density of the transport medium in the course of travel, which leads to an increase in the flow velocity. Thus, the largest specific losses fall on the last linear sections of the pipeline. The use of pipes with antifriction coating on these sections will allow us to obtain substantially shorter payback periods than for the whole gas pipeline as a whole. This will save energy on the drive of the superchargers of the compressor station or position them at a greater distance from each other.
