Mediation as a means of subsistence in a cross-cultural environment in the context of globalization

Abstract

The processes of mediation as a means of existence of the individual in a cross-cultural environment in the age of globalization are analyzed. Questions concerning the adaptation of a person to conditions of the other culture with preservation of efficiency of activity and individuality are considered. The article proves that the degree of mediation adaptation to the conditions of the cross-cultural environment testifies to the intercultural competence of a person, which implies the preservation of his unique individuality. The model of personality adaptation taking into account the features of "I"-individuality is worked out. The investigation shows the role of the mediation strategy in the development of intercultural dialogue.
