Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the perfection of conventional tools, as well as the application of intelligent tools for switched reluctance motor (SRM) modelling and torque control with high performance. In most cases, SRM is used in saturation mode, since its winding is separate this type of motor has torque ripple. In this paper a new method of minimizing torque ripples is proposed. Asymmetrical half bridge converter (AHB) is used to feed both fuzzy logic and ANN control of a switched reluctance motor. Fixed SRM settings are used to simulate both controllers in MATLAB/ SIMULINK. In comparison to the ANN controller, the fuzzy logic controller drives the switching reluctance motor very well, according to the results.
