Abstract
This article proposes a criteria statement on sustainable development that could be included in the adoption of the International Engineering Alliance Graduate Attributes and Professional Competencies in engineering programs or engineering program accreditation agencies. A description of the structure of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and the International Engineering Alliance criteria for engineering programs is made, emphasizing the importance of the sustainable development goals in higher education engineering programs.
