Abstract
This paper is focused on the possibilities of using the products of the Czech state enterprise Povodí Moravy (Morava River Basin) for the purposes of evaluating the influence of the river profile maximum depth on the military vehicle fording (wet gap crossing). Surface waters is one of the main element of the landscape. The grade of the impact of drainage on a vehicle ability to cross a water obstacle is given by geomorphological and hydrological characteristics of rivers such as width, profile slopes, depth, current’s velocity, bottom characteristics and qualitative parameters of drainage on overall forms of its occurrence. In particular watercourses can form a long obstacle across the movement of military formations. Watercourses affect both the movement of individual military vehicles and the manoeuvre of military units. Detailed knowledge of individual characteristics allows to find the optimal place to overcome. It was found that the measured and modelled data provided by the state enterprise Povodí Moravy can be used to evaluate the influence of the profile maximum depth of the discharge on the military vehicles fording.
