Archival information resources in a pandemic: on the issue of creating an information resource “Places of memory of Ukrainian diplomacy”

Abstract

The author demonstrates the challenges facing archives and researchers due to quarantine restrictions related to the threat to human health posed by the coronavirus pandemic due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The author points out the common problem for all institutes of memory (archives, libraries, museums) and analyzes the areas of work of the State Archival Service of Ukraine and state archives to expand access to archival information resources. The author considers the possibilities of integration of the public sector in the field of archives with the centers of civil society. The author outlines on the example of an information resource - a virtual historical project “Places of Memory of Ukrainian Diplomacy” – ways of effective cooperation between archivists, scholars and diplomats to ensure access to sources of institutional history of Ukrainian diplomacy.
