Abstract

This article, based on rich historical material, examines the history of the formation of literary education in national groups of higher schools of the Republic of Mordovia, as well as a wide range of issues related to the development of pedagogical foundations of university literary education. Based on the analysis of the first curricula, programs and textbooks on Russian and native literature for students of national groups of the university and the pedagogical institute, it is noted that the most difficult task at the initial stage of the formation of university literary education was the correct solution of issues related to its structure and content of education.
