Abstract

Nowadays, in demanding conditions of the 4th industrial revolution optimization of materials, manufacturing processes and production cost are come more and more to the fore. Paper provides an insight into the topic of cables for lighting airport runways. After summarizing the most important insulation materials used in medium-voltage airport cables, their general electrical parameters are described. Five samples produced with different technologies and design specifications were subjected to a non-destructive partial discharge measurement test, and the sample with best results was tested in the scope of electrical type test.
