Abstract

This paper presents the analysis of the effect of different influencing factors on corona discharge in a point-plate arrangement. Initially this arrangement was used for laboratory-scale experiments for modelling lightning attachment and then it was found a useful way of the investigation of industrial technologies applying corona discharge. In the paper, we are focusing on the properties of the corona in electrostatic precipitators.
