Determining System and Subsystem Availability Requirements: Resource Planning and Evaluation

Abstract

When using an availability centered plan, a design develops that most appropriately matches the requirements of the facility, maximizing the effectiveness of resources. An availability centered plan serves to recognize subsystems that have specialized needs - needs that are unique from the remainder of the facility. In so doing, resources can be applied only where necessary, helping to optimize and prioritize the designs.
