Abstract
keeping in mind the widespread usage of Android/Windows devices and commercialization of IoT based systems; there is urgent need for Android/Windows devices to coordinate with IoT devices. This coordination may involve configuration and control of IoT devices/controllers from Android/Windows devices. We design, develop and test an SNMP/MIB based control API for IoT devices that enables Android and Windows machines to manage SNMP enabled IoT devices remotely via network. It is a client/manager design that uses SNMP protocol to operate on management information bases of any managed device and multiple client devices can register themselves with the manager. For testing purpose, client runs on Android device and manager can run on both Android and Windows device. We test this API in both LAN and WAN setting and report various parameters including round trip time, trap delay and device internal delay time for both getting and setting MIB values. This delay computation is very important for time critical applications of IoT.
