Abstract

NIE Networks Voltage Management (VM) project is exploring the ability to actively manage network voltage, unlocking network capacity to connect further demand and distributed generation. One of the methods of voltage management is through the deployment of Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOMs) on NIE Networks' 11kV distribution network. This project will specify and trial an 11kV STATCOM.
