Abstract
The program of the Four Gates, which is based on the concept of consent of people and society, has some intermediate steps called makam. The intermediate steps of this program, which enable the development of humans gradually in Alevism, are the main problem of this study. The main questions investigated in the study are: How many intermediate steps are there in the Four-Gates program and what are they? How and in what way have these intermediate steps been determined by different sources and different Alevi scholars? What are the similar and different aspects of these steps? Can we go to an inclusive construction from the different intermediate steps included in the sources? The sources used in the article are the written sources of Alevism and its inner texts. By looking at these sources, the makams of the Four Gates program were tried to be determined. The results of the study show that although there are some differences between the makams in the Four-Gates program, similarities were found to be higher. It was estimated that some of these differences were caused by the people who reproduced the written sources and some of them were the opinions of the Alevi scholars.
