Abstract

Question Answering System (QAS) is a technique to extract answers in the available source like electronic documents. It has been used in many domains, such as Education, Medical, and Religion. Furthermore, QAS can extract answers in the open-domain. In this research, we analyze the state-of-the-art method used by QAS in question analysis, document retrieval and answer extraction in recent years. Furthermore, we present two classifications in the source type and baseline method. We also give the view in terms of the strengths and weaknesses of each method as well as the issue to solve in the future QAS.
