Traction uses the power electronic based components for controlling the speed of electric locomotive system. However the non-linear current characteristics injected from the traction power converters impacts the power quality in transmission system. Abstract

Harmonics is the one of the major Power Quality (PQ) problems in power systems majorly due to the use of non-linear characteristics of the equipments.
