Abstract
The design process has certain constraints that negatively influence the designer's final decision-making. These decisions, which are mostly taken during the preliminary phases of the process, have a considerable impact on the development of products throughout their life cycle. Actually, the accuracy and imprecision of the results obtained is one of the major problems of this phase. To this end, we propose through this work an approach which aims to evaluate particularly the accuracy of the behavior models used for the exploration of design solutions during the embodiment phase and this based on two types of evaluation.: the first evaluation corresponds to an objective evaluation which allows to evaluate the behavior models accuracy comparing to a reference solution, and the second evaluation consists in integrating the designer's experiences in the process of evaluation of these models, the combination of these two types of indicators will allow us to have at the end an overall accuracy indicator of these models. In order to highlight our approach, we applied it on a solar reflector support “tube concept”.
